A Day at the Beach

Today we went to Picnic Point Park with our ward's play group. We had tons of fun. I have been waiting 9 months to go to play group. Toph did great. He slept on the way to and from the park and pretty much the entire time we were there. He woke up just long enough to eat and scope out his surroundings. (He loves to open just one eye to see what is going on around him. I guess he is seeing if it is worth opening the other eye) He didn't seem to care that we weren't at home, probably because we were in a warm place and mom was holding him.

I didn't introduce him to sand (rocks, there were more rocks than sand) or beach water. As you can see in the photos he wasn't really dressed for swimming. I did put sun screen on his face, neck, and hands/arms but tried to keep him covered for most of the time. A baby with a sun burn .... No thank you. Sun burns are horrible as an adult I wouldn't want to try and console an infant.

We have been really enjoying the nice weather and look forward to the remainder of summer. Hopefully we have more days like today.

PS - Our little guy is one month today. Crazy how fast time flies. He is starting to smile and laugh as and interaction with us and not just after he passes gas. (It's the little things that make my day!!!) We go in for his one month check-up tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed that we have passed the 8 pound mark. :)

Things he does...

It's fun to watch our little guy and wonder what he is thinking about, looking at, dreaming of, or whatever. I haven't really spent a lot of time around baby's (other than being the goofy type uncle to all your kids). In other words I haven't had the time to watch and observe things babies do that mimic what an adult would do, and although it may appear obvious to some of you, it's a lot of fun for me.

Stretching when he wakes up.

Sleeping with one hand above his head (although it picture looks posed, it's not)

Arm over his eyes when it's bright out...

This is the look I get when I did something I shouldn't have... THE EVIL EYE! (probably the look I'll get for the next picture)

Topher slipping in some tongue when he kisses.... Ha HA Ha!
