30 going on 31

Baby Stuff!!!

We have slowly been collecting some baby stuff since we found out we were having a boy. We got a great pack and play and vibrating chair off Craigslist and a friend gave us a stroller and car-seat combo. I spent Saturday morning cleaning and assembling.

We washed all the covers and sanitized every inch. Chris enjoyed watching me attempt to set-up the pack and play. You have to lock the sides before you push down the floor - who would have known. I had to actually read the instructions, how embarrassing. The pack and play has a built-in bassenet which we are going to use in our room for Toph to sleep in for the first few weeks. It was exciting to set it up and put it in our room. Seeing this set-up makes the idea of Toph a little more a reality.

Right on Schedule.

We went to the doctor's today, my last appointment before I start going every two weeks. Before I know it I will be going to the doctors every week. Then I will start to panic, this milestone means Toph could come any day. Chris doesn't have school on Friday's so he was able to come with me. It was great to spend some morning time with my hubby and for him to be part of the check-up. Usually the doctor just slightly pushes on my belly to identify the babies position and to roughly measure, what ever it is he measures, to make sure we are right on schedule. This was the first time the doctor used a measuring tape to check our growth. Mom and baby are developing and growing right on schedule for an April 20th delivery. He told us if I continue to progress and grow as I have been we should expect a 7-7 1/2 lb baby. No 9 lb baby in my immediate future.

I remember the first few times I went to the doctors office. I felt a little out of place looking around to see many prego ladies who were really showing. At that point I could only imagine what is was going to like when I started to really show. It was a great realization to walk in the doctors office and really be showing .... I LOVE IT.

Life is going great. I just need to keep my emotions under check for the next few weeks so I don't drive my co-workers and husband crazy. Good Luck To Me.

Surprise!!!

I came home from work today to a great surprise; my hubby set-up the crib and bookshelf and unpacked/assembled the rocker glider. Well ... the nursery isn't completely set-up but it's starting to look great. We have been painting the crib for weeks and its great to see it finished and set-up. We just need to do some minor touch ups and put on a clear coat. I couldn't help but get out the bedding to see how it looks with the crib and the other furniture. It's exciting to see all the pieces start to come together. Our second bedroom is beginning to resemble a Nursery. YEAH!!!

Things I Love About Being Pregnant

1. I love feeling the baby move. It's the greatest when I am able to relax and just focus on him, usually early in the morning when it's just the two of us.
2. I love watching Chris's reaction when he feels the baby move. Especially when Toph kicks really hard.
3. I love watching my baby bump grow. It's not fun that the rest of me slowly gets larger too.
4. I love how others try to do things for me. Suddenly a paper clip is the only thing I can lift safely; that and food.
5. I love the reactions I recieve once people notice that I am pregnant. It has been really fun now that I am really showing.
6. I love how I instantly have a conversation starter. Especially since I am not good at starting conversations or engaging in small talk.
7. I love the instant bond/connection I feel with other mothers.
8. I love the excitement others express when they see that I am pregnant and how there eyes light up as they place there hand on my belly.
9. I love the thoughts and excitement of wondering what our baby will look like and his personality.
10. I love that Heavenly Father chose Chris and I to raise one of his choice spirits.
11. I love shopping for baby stuff - Especially clothes and hats.
12. I LOVE being pregnant all together. I will miss it, but am really excited to hold him in my arms and welcome him into our family.

Week 28

You're invading my space!!!

This morning I went to the doctor's for our 4th check-up appointment. I was very excited for this appointment because Chris is out of school and his Mom was coming into town. I thought we would all go to my appointment together. I guess hearing the sound of a babies heartbeat is more precious and calming to the mom. Needless to say, they slept right through it. Actually, I almost missed out also. I got to my appointment a little late to hear the receptionist tell me, "Doctor Henderson doesn't do late." Luckily she was able to squeeze us in.

I was extremely excited to hear that my weight gain is right on schedule ... Phew!! I was a little worried. I thought for sure I was way over with all I ate over Thanksgiving. The best part of the appointment came right before the doctor put the Doppler on my belly. The doctor was able to feel were Toph's head and feet were. He put my fingers right on Toph's head. As I pushed a little and moved my fingers around I was able to feel a little pressure or hard spot as the doc described it. As I was about to lift my fingers Toph hit right were my fingers were. I think he had enough of us pushing him around. You could see my hand jump off my belly. I kind of jumped and the Doc just chuckled. I absolutely love starting my days with Toph reassuring me he is there.
